Brian currently serves as an appointed member of Gahanna’s Governance Commission; a seven-member group established to examine and recommend whether or not Gahanna should convert to a city manager form of government. The Commission is tasked with holding a minimum of three open forum meetings for professional and public input. The Commission’s regular meetings are also open the public.
Passionate about civic engagement and public service, Brian has been involved with both, voluntarily or professionally, for 20 years. This involvement has stemmed all levels of government, federal, state and local, as well as across all three branches of governance – legislative, executive and judicial.
Brian grew up in Rockville, MD, just outside of Washington, D.C., and moved to Ohio to gain a degree in political science from Ohio State University. After returning to the Washington, D.C. area after college, Brian soon longed to be back in Ohio, among the Midwestern values and the community feel of Columbus’ suburbs. These are the things that Brian and his family have found here in the city of Gahanna.
